Brisbane Broncos news, Kevin Walters signs son Billy Walters from Wests Tigers

Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters has signed his son, Billy, from the Wests Tigers for 2022.

Billy, 27, will depart Concord at the end of this season to play under his father.

The five-eighth or hooker has played 11 NRL games since making his debut for the Storm in 2019.

Billy’s 2020 campaign was cut short just as he broke into the Tigers’ starting side due to an ACL injury.

Billy has only played one first-grade game for the Tigers this year when he slotted in at five-eighth as they went down in a 40-12 loss to the Eels in Round 14.

‘Wild Wests: Tales from Tiger Town’ premieres on Fox League, FOX8 and Kayo on Monday, July 19 at 7.30pm.

The acquisition of Walters follows the signing of South Sydney’s Adam Reynolds and Penrith’s Kurt Capewell.

The Broncos have also extended the contracts of Tyson Gamble, Kotoni Staggs and Jake Turpin over the last few weeks.
